2013 seems to be a lucky year for Namibia’s tourism industry. In addition to the International Adventure Travel Summit in October a German ‘outback’ reality show with VIPs will create huge awareness for Namibia as a holiday destination. According to a report of German yellow press ‘Bild am Sonntag’ the candidates received their contracts, tickets and lists for packing their suitcases. The candidates are second or third row ‘stars’ who will benefit in terms of publicity, fees and a prize for the finalist.

Die Gerüchte sind jetzt bestätigt worden: Die nächste Staffel der deutschen Reality-Show “Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus” (kurz: IBES) wird in Namibia gedreht. Das meldete Bild.de unter Berufung auf Vertragsdokumente. Die Kandidaten haben bereits Tickets und Liste zum Kofferpacken, die Dreharbeiten beginnen in Kürze, die ersten Folgen der Staffel sollen bereits im Sommer laufen. Für Namibias Reisebranche ist dies der zweite Glücksfall in diesem Jahr: Nicht nur diese Show, sondern auch die Internationale Tagung der Abenteuerreise-Branche im Oktober dürfte ein Millionenpublikum für das Reiseziel Namibia begeistern.
